Miss Ellie 1980

Bo was born in Somerset, England and stayed with her mother Ladybird until she was two years old. She then went to a local family who sold her on again at five. Her name came from the Dallas tv show and a neighbour called her colt JR. Her father was a beautiful chestnut Arab stallion called Jalali and I'd love to know more about him.

It isn't known how she made the journey from Somerset to Cheshire, I think most likely though horse dealers. She was recommended to me and was delivered on Bonfire night 1985. It was love at first sight and there were more fireworks in my heart than in the sky that night.

I called her 'Garbo' for a pet name
as I thought it suited her better
and that's how she became
known as ... 'Bo'

By the summer of '86 the hairy little pony became a stunning dapple grey with huge black eyes and attitude. She had a busy career in ridden showing and dressage and then had a maternity break in 1993 to have Ellie's Echo.

Coming back into work she was even more successful and competed lightly in dressage until she was 26 years old. I think she grew more beautiful with age and it became a game to us how many people would say how lovely she was.
